Additional News Stories on Roundup Cases in Iowa
Information Regarding the Recent Supreme Court Decision in Bayer’s Favor
In June of 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision that impacts Roundup cancer lawsuits. In a 7-2 ruling, the Court ruled that federal pesticide labeling law preempts state law claims that Bayer and Monsanto failed to warn consumers about potential cancer risks associated with Roundup.
However, it’s important to note that the Court did not decide whether glyphosate causes cancer. The ruling only addressed a legal question about whether state courts can require warning labels in addition to what was approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
In Iowa we face one of the highest rates of new cancer diagnoses in the nation. We also rank as one of the country’s largest users of glyphosate herbicides like Roundup.
Researchers are currently studying environmental exposures (including pesticides) and their possible impact on Iowa’s high cancer rates, but no single cause has been identified yet. Scientific studies on glyphosate and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) are part of those ongoing scientific studies.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma after years of Roundup exposure, we don’t believe this court decision eliminates your legal rights. The Supreme Court’s opinion addressed just one category of legal claims. Nationwide, attorneys like Darin Luneckas are evaluating how the ruling affects pending and future cases.
